Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Scene 21(GCP439) is a delightful homage to the 1975 British film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In this comedic retelling of the quest for the elusive relic, King Arthur and his comrades must face a most terrifying and fearsome monster guarding the entrance to the Cave of Caerbannog—a rabbit.

That’s no ordinary rabbit! That’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!” —Tim the Enchanter

In reality, the cave is actually the former Tomnadashan Mine, a gold and copper mine from the 19th century. Although no blood-thirsty rabbits lay in wait, danger still lurks in the form of rough terrain and deep caverns.

Today, the mine is a must-see destination for geocachers and Monty Python fans brave enough to risk “certain death” to find the cache and pay homage to this cult classic film. Toy rabbits, “holy hand-grenades,” and other movie memorabilia decorate GZ, while many cache logs reference the movie and are accompanied by photos of geocachers recreating the gruesome scene.

One… Two… FIVE! Luckily the holy handgrenade did a perfect job, so there was no sign of the vicious rabbit with its pointy teeth. Therefore we had plenty of time to explore the cave, and sign the log. And now on to the Castle of Aaaaaargh! Tftc…”—The Irish
