This geocache has more than just words of wisdom to share; it has secrets, too. Take a snooze with us as we visit this beloved character at our Geocache of the Week, SNOOPY IN MIROW (GC9B4PC).

Nearly everyone can recognize Snoopy, the beloved beagle and backyard philosopher from Charles M Schultz’s Peanuts comics. Alongside his best friend and sidekick, Woodstock, he often gets lost in daydreams, usually atop his iconic red doghouse.

Now, geocachers can join in on those adventures as they visit SNOOPY IN MIROW (GC9B4PC)!

The adventure begins on the lakeshore of Mirrower See, where several interesting sculptures and installations can be found. From a giant ant next to a canoe, to a precariously leaning lighthouse and a pair of wooden carved people lounging on a bench, there’s certainly a lot to see at this lake.

For geocachers, however, there’s one sculpture in particular to look out for.

On the edge of the clearing, bordering the reedy lakeshore, Snoopy waits, lost in a daydream as he faces the sky.

Is he deep in philosophical thought? Fantasizing about soaring through the sky as the Flying Ace? Or perhaps just snoozing?

That’s up to the geocacher to decide. For now, there’s just one thing that we’re daydreaming about: finding that geocache.

Instructions on the cache page will lead searchers to a combination code. For this next part, geocachers will go where Snoopy himself rarely does: his doghouse.

The geocache container sits safely under Snoopy’s watchful eye, just waiting to be found. Complete with a miniature hammock and table, even trackables can have a little rest here.

This find may be quick, but it’s a legacy long in the making. Since his start in 1950, Snoopy has delighted millions as he became one of the most iconic canine characters in the world.

This cache reminds us to “keep looking up” because there’s often something grand right around the corner. In this case, what we were searching for was with us all along.
